hi guys, i've always admired the photos that the japanese take, be it food or sceneries. they always have this vintage/yellowish feel that i find it hard to replicate, even with filters found on photo editors like instagram. if you're not sure what i'm talking about, here are a few examples :

Not too difficult to achieve. You can do it in Lightroom with some cross processing.

i tried lightroom but not sure if i don't know how to use or what but most effects turned out overexposed. could it be that those photos were taken using film cameras instead? just wondering.

MHO,
You might want to give the 'reversal film' (or whatever film emulation filter you have on your camera) a try;
add in a bit of cross process and de-saturate. (or even just de-saturate )
May need to adjust the curves a bit to get a similar looking tonal response.

The film used in your sample shots should be daylight balanced, so some of the yellow cast for the indoor shots may be because of this.
Then again, each film color is different and so is the scanning software translation of the film color, so lots of variables.

you can try setting a custom RGB space in-camera with a bias towards yellow. your manual might give you a clue

lightroom and CS a little twicking, will do...

If you're talking about the built-in presets, you'll usually need to tweak/customize them depending on your actual photo of course. Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadow, curve, split tone.

Well, if you have any sample photos you can share, that'll help.

It can just that the natural light over there is softer and more diffused than in Singapore. Maybe it can be replicated in post, but you'll have to experiment.
