Hi all,

Recently I bought a Metz AF50-1 flash and I am looking for a compatible wireless flash trigger. I called SLRR but they do not carry any wireless flash trigger for pentax.

Can someone advise where I can get one and which brand and model is suitable for AF50-1?

Thanks

I thought high end pentax flash all got wireless-ttl built-in, like this one
Tumax Wireless TTL HIgh Speed Sync Flash

there are a lot non-ttl generic wirelss trigger that works with pentax, means u have to set flash power manually instead of auto-set from camera.

ttl one not sure, I am using the manual wireless trigger, which works quite well.
option 1: cheap 25m range pt4 4-channel type trigger for indoor
option 2: expensive 2.4GHz 100m range trigger

pocket wizard plus III

I think most wireless trigger for flash models with center pin would work but not many will support TTL.
There's cheap one to good one like PocketWizard.
On the other hand if you can use cable which is the cheapest, just buy PC-sync adaptors for hotshoes/flash since our DSLR don't have and linkup with PC-sync cables :)

I think the OP is talking about P-TTL compatible wireless radio trigger. The only one I know about...but not on the market yet is this.

PTTL or non-PTTL?

The cheapest way to use wireless PTTL is to use the on-camera flash as controller. Set the Metz to SL.

For non-pttl and of the China Triggers Iie. phottix, YoungNuo, etc) do pretty fine nowadays.

Sorry for the late reply. Was sick for a while.

pinholecamera - so to be able to use wireless pttl what type of wireless flash triggers are there in the market for Pentax?

i seriously dont think there is wireless PTTL trigger yet for pentax. not that i know of.
If you really die die want to do wireless PTTL strobing. u can buy a few Metz 50 or sigma 610super and set it all up as slaves and use the camera as master controller.

As poseur has said on the post above this one.

If you need wireless PTTL, the cheapest way is to use the on-camera flash as controller and set the Metz to SL (ie slave).
Otherwise, you need to use a Metz 58 as master, and one or more Metz 36, 58 as slaves.

If you need any practical help, just look me up during the coming outing. ;)

Ok I will be going for the Pentax outing this Sat. I will bring my flash but I don't have any wireless flash trigger (as I don't know which to get). Do you have any to lend for a while?
