Sorry I know this is the most noob question that i've ever asked.

What is the exposure time 0.7692" = equals to in-cam when setting the shutter speed?

currently using a D300 btw. tried figure out all the slow shutter speeds but no avail!

hopefully any strong technical skill people can help me!

Thanks!!

eh simple division.

eg. 1/250 of a second is 0.24

so 1/80 is 0.75

hhaha sorry TS for wrong info :p

1/1.3s = 0.7692s

so what is 1/1.3s in relation to shutter stops?

For Nikon in 1/3 step between 1/2s to 1s is 1/2s, 1/1.6s, 1/1.3s, 1s.
For Canon in 1/3 step between 1/2s to 1 s is 0"5, 0"6, 0'8, 1".

correct me if I'm wrong, one stop is twice as much light collected by sensor than previous setting hence any doubling of shutter time is twice the amount of light collected

yup, that is correct.
