Err... I think the "other" camp is shaken liao.. Focus peaking while taking video also.... Interchangeable focusing screen... :B
Ready to have Pentaxian outing numbering 50++? :p

PS: Now, bring back all our MF lenses you dark imbeciles! :p

The launch price in the US is $849usd for body alone, $899 w 18-55 kit. We'd expect even lower price here in SG that's for sure:cool:

we will have our hands-on review very very soon ;p

I think it's worth it... Live view focus peaking, even while in-video recording, and full WR is already worth it.. Priced quite at an affordable price!

Basically it's K-01 + K5 babeh~ Woohoooo!

ya that's what i thought to.. especially the lv focus peaking, wr and 100% vf coverage. Hmm maybe now i just need to get past the missus:confused:

Err... If yours currently black in color, then get a black one too? :p

Oooo WR + -10°c + sub 1.5kg = hiking/bacpacking dslr

Focus peaking in a dslr is just awesome. The grip looks comfortable.

At USD$899, what is the reason to get other brands?

The 100% VF n WR makes it worthwhile already. The focus peaking is just icing in the cake!

Coming from a kx user who just upgraded to a k5. Looks like Pentax has got something huge coming up for the k5 replacement... otherwise everybody will be jut buying k30s!!!

Fresh, modern and youthful design. Pentax designers are on a roll

I will get this !!!

K-30 Hands-on preview at DPR:
Pentax K-30 Hands-on Preview: Digital Photography Review

The camera's SAFOX IXi+ AF system is an advance over the K-5 and features 11 AF points, 9 of which are cross-type (sensitive to vertical, as well as horizontal edges). The major difference is that the lenses in front of the AF sensor have been improved - promising more consistent autofocus performance (what Pentax is calling a diffusion lens is designed to prevent chromatic aberrations confusing the AF system). A wide-area AF mode promises to improve focus tracking if the subject strays from a user-selected AF area to a neighboring point.

I guess we'll have to see how much improvement Pentax has done on AF this round :)

Ah, 12 bit RAW. The small size is a boon.

I wonder if the K5 successor will have the Fn button again. I don't know about you guys, but that's really the one thing I miss from the K20D.. Especially when I want to change the AF point and end up trying to change WB instead. :bsmilie:

OMG... it have TVA mode, WR and the AF.S/AF.C switch...

it don't look like a entry lvl!
so close to k-5

Ah, 12 bit RAW.

so its good news or bad news... :bsmilie:

anyway... looks a winner already... although i stilll think its too close to k-5... good for new or existing k-r users....

anyway waiting for k-5 successor as well... should be 24MP for the looks of it....

just to add the focus peaking at live view probably will be very useful for macro... provided stability is not an issue.... using VF is just a pain and need very good eye sight...
