Touch wood first.

The place you stays, got flood and worst still, the building on fire! You cant swim, how? Ha ha!

Jump into water n hopes for miracle rather than burn by fire? Use water from flood to put out fire?

Some time i thinks too much but if that happens to me, i no need to think what to do as i got the ans. I know how to swim, so, i jump into water. Heh heh!

Jump into water stand higher chance to survive.....depending how high the building though....in dire straight.....ask me to jump onto pavement also i will do it.....most to most crack a few bones.....still better than becoming roast pork :)

You think too little. Know how to swim, jump into water, got piranha, how?

Got no piranha, got alligator, how?

No alligator, got strong current that you cannot handle, how?

If it's your time, it's your time. We can only hope to not encounter this sort of thing. So yes, you think too much. Cheers.

I think the worst thing is to jump into them in the water waiting for you. :bsmilie:

In situations whereby people are trapped in a high-rise fire with no escape whatsoever, many would choose to jump rather than be burned alive.

During 9/11, emergency responders on scene at the WTC described "sounds of shotgun going off" repeatedly as bodies impacted around them.

jump to water and get drown, at least the body is still recognisable though it get bloated. jump to fire and get burn to death, no one know who you are.

When a building on fire, there's always time for a quick response.
Or in an earthquake unless the building ceiling etc collapses on you.
Give prior thoughts to the escape route and the chances of survival will be augmented and optimised.

1. Check fire escape location and be able to locate the exit in darkness. Make sure the door can be opened! Know where's the fire extinguisher located.
2. Look out the window and check what’s outside.
3. Have a set of basic kit stringed on a key chain with you by the bedside while sleeping that include
- A small whistle
- A small torchlight
- A penknife
- A compass (to complete the travel kit)
4. Twin bedroom. (They always tell you to go under the table in an earthquake. See what's in your hotel room The table invariably come with no space under it!) When the room shake. drop between the beds and make sure you get into position with head facing the foot of the bed else you cannot crawl out. Hope the beam does not come down in the same line as the gap between the bed! Unlock and open the door at the first opportunity. The building shake can jam the door. In the so called better hotels, the mattress is heavy. In the cheapo hotels can pull the mattress over the bed gap.
5. A bottle of water bottle by the bedside
6. A short length of cord - many uses........ to hang laundry, tie up a broken bag, secure a room raider/intruder

If you're dead, does it matter? :dunno:

Not to the cadaver but it offers closure and healing after time for the friends and families

agreed, you cannot run away when your time is up. Death will pick up from where he left.

Never watch Final Destination series? You can't... Cheat... Death :D

For the deceased's family, it is important to have closure.

True.
Some people will not accept the fact that the person is dead unless they see the body. They would rather the believe their family member have some how survive.
