Very strange...
My computer mouse is suddenly not working well.
It can still work but it does not move smoothly and sometimes it only moves half of the way.
It was working well and I don't know why it became like this.
It is a logitech optical usb mouse.
Used for quite a number of years... come to think of it, around 7 years.

The only thing that happened to it that day was, I used it on another computer.
I usually use it with my Mac.
That day, I unplugged it from Mac and used it on my sister's PC in the early morning.
Then I unplugged from PC and plugged back into my Mac.
It worked fine on both computers and also worked fine when plugged back to Mac.
But half a day later, in the late afternoon, it suddenly became cranky like this.
This was yesterday and it has been cranky till now.

Also, another thing that happened but there isn't really a link is, it seemed to become cranky shortly after i took out a new mobile phone and used the phone.
Is it possible that this new mobile phone emits some strange radiation that spoilt something from the mouse.
I think very unlikely but this is the only thing that happened before it started becoming cranky.
Or maybe just a coincidence.

Maybe my good ol mouse has finally reached the end of its life?
Anyway, has this kind of thing ever happened to you?
What can I do to fix it?

Is your mouse a male mouse?

If so get a female mouse for it to revitalize and energize his sapping love life.

My friend, optical mouse has no ball!
Having to clean that stupid ball and rollers around the ball is the very reason I changed to an optical mouse and will never get a ball mouse again!
Btw, I think those ball mouses are more or less obsolete no?

My mouse is a hermaphrodite with no interest in romance, so I doubt that's the problem.
How??

Get a new one...I can't remember how much an entry level one costs 7 years ago, but they are pretty much dirt cheap now.

Confirmed a female mouse. :bsmilie:

No leh... my mouse is very man-looking.
He is completely black with cool red laser light from the bottom.
Not like that ugly girly-looking crystal mouse that you recommended for my mouse.

I try to stick to Logitech mice.
I don't think they are dirt cheap even now.

Also, I like to use the same thing forever... kinda like old people...
And I'm kinda disturbed when things get spoilt... especially suddenly like that.

Check the surface of the table. It may be caused by dirty surface disputing the signal.

I thought of that too.
I am using a mousepad.
It has worked very well on this same mousepad for a long time.
I checked that it isn't dirty and used my hand to sweep it and it looks clean.
Also, I just wiped it with a wet cloth not long ago.
Mouse is also clean.
Everything is very clean.

Then time to change a mouse (7 years liao leh....it's a RAT now)...can try hamster this time :p

I've been using Logitech all these years. (The cheapest one :bsmilie:) Just change 1 if it dies. Dirt cheap now... can get one ~$16+-

Dispel all dirty thoughts from your mind.
Cultivate good clean living and purity of thoughts.
Resist temptation of flesh and pleasure.
This will bring good karma to your PC and its accessories.

Easy explanation. Mouse device drivers.

The trick is not to use the mouse when the cat is around.....................................................

is your mouse as old as your PC?

if all your usb ports are utilized at the back of your tower
might be not enough electric to power up the mouse properly

so use a usb port with dc power usually can solve this problem

or get a new mouse
or get a new psu
or get a new pc
