Hi Darren, need your help to trigger the two sub-forums LIVE at 2100 tomorrow.

Communicated with PE earlier and here are the key points

Registration Method
All talks registration will adopt Darren's suggestion and NOT use the "List Your Name in sequence" eg
List.
1. dfkjkf
2. sdfkjkf
3. djfjfd

Instead, request the member to POST A REPLY stating their Name and Last 4 digits of IC, eg

Name: Darren
IC: Sxxx1234A

That way, the listing won't get screwed up with missing names when there is a flurry of signups.
To see if an event is reaching capacity, just make a note of the post number on the top right of each post and subtract appropriately for announcement and non-sign-up posts.

Monitoring the Threads
Essentially there are 21 talks and we need SEVERAL MODs to chip in and monitor.

BTW these 2 guys are banned from all the talks and walks. You can call me personal or whatever .... they are to be out period

1. davidnn99

2. David Kwok

I am not about to waste my time and effort for these 2 idiots.

The Talks and Walks sections have been opened to the general public.

Noted on the 2100 launch. Will open the sections for general viewing EXCEPT for New Members.

Darren

can we let everyone view the forum, new members and even public?
this is a golden oppty to increase our membership base.
Also I have contacts in OnlineCitizen, Publichouse and various social media sites. I can't ask them to promote if we don let non-members see and register.

Hope everyone is agreeable with this. We need to fill 5,250 seats over the weekend and we only have one week to accomplish this.

The question is whether new members with 0 post can attend the talks? We have discussed that before. The primary purpose is not a membership drive when we organise this event, so I hope we stay on course..

lets stay calm and see what the numbers are over the next few days and see what to do on monday or tuesday if the numbers are not to expectation? its only been 1 hour since registrations opened

Oh... Darren or Edmund or Simon ..... Can we change the Banners OR at least the links in that banner ? No more need to have Sneak Peek banners .... how about a banner outrightly announcing the talks and walks ?

Eg

No need to link to this thread anymore
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/clubsnap-special-events/1058846-clubsnap-10th-anniversary-celebration-21-22-apr-2012-a-2.html

Should link to THIS registration page
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/anniversary-talks/

and THIS

or at least this

I perfectly understand your point but if GOH ask his PA to check out the threads to get information? Do we expect the PA to register to be a member to view. This may not be a recruitment drive but if we start sending out promotion materials and people can't see the contents, they will be puzzled. Sponsors are probably not our members or members with 0 post counts.

Monday? we only have one weekend and we want it to go viral asap. We fill up the seats over the weekend, we have bragging rights.

ok I have said my piece. Come what may... 8)

P.S. some of the speakers are not even members of CS!!! I have emailed all of them for reference and I am getting emails saying they can't view and need to register to be a member.

I am fine with allowing New Members with 0 posts to attend the talks. As Seb has mentioned, we have a tremendous amount of seats to fill for a two-day event.

I have edited the sections to allow VIEWING of the threads and content for everyone, but New Members CANNOT post reply (thus cannot register) - this may open up other can of worms, but we can say priority for old members to register first and we open to all on Monday.

Thank you so much

at least viewing... I am having a hard time trying to answer emails from non members on this matter.

As of 0100, four hours after LIVE event, an estimated 211 talk signups or 4%.
This weekend is critical...

Great News
TEDxSingapore committed to Ideas worth spreading and with 7k+ likes has picked up on our event and broadcasting it as well.
TEDx SINGAPORE | Facebook

I understand that we prefer to restrict registration exclusively to our members but we are part of a larger community as well. This is an excellent outreach oppty that can potentially forge useful relationships with other stakeholders. And we have 5,250 seats to fill.

Like I said this weekend is critical, if everyone see the immense popularity and rush to register, we ensure attendance and the press will get word of the event and come forth to talk to us.

for your kind consideration to bring forth registration by ALL members regardless.
