Hi all,

Did a search on portable printer and can't find any related one. Don't flame me if I did not search hard enough hehe.

I looking for a portable printer to print during shooting. Main reason is to give back something to the people especially for street photo overseas. On the spot printing is necessary as not likely to go back the same place again, even in the same trip. Those photos may mean a lot to them (than to me, I just shoot for hobby), especially less develop countries where they seldom have their photo taken and get to keep it.

Anyone has idea any printer model and setup can do that? The setup I can think of is using a eye-fi card to send the photo to the printer wirelessly. Photo size about 3R or 4R can already.

Saw some using Canon printer and shoot for tourist and instant print, they carry the printer on their body. Selphy CP800 looks good, but looking for a smaller one to be put in a backpack or my beltpack. Normally I travel with a TTSW Hard Drive, I don't have many lens so a lot of space left.

Thanks all!

for those Canon ,Sony printers..say u printed only 10 sheets...if u leave the link etc in there will it dry up? cos my old Samsung will..

No. These are dye sublimation printers. They don't use liquid inks, but a replaceable cartridge with the dyes on a ribbon.

Hi there, I have the same thinking as you as well. Haha print and pass the photo to people as memories. I bought canon selphy CP800. IMHO, I think it is good enough for me. Sits nicely in my camera bag as well. Because I don't carry too many lens around. when you buy the package, it only comes with adapter, no battery. You have to order from eBay. :p

Just my 2 cents. Cheers

How about those older models? Like CP720? Works the same as CP800? A friend keen to sell me only $35! Not used and free prints too..check online not much details between the 2...

But $35 is really good deal...wonder y he wanna sell that cheap...
