Picture is taken outside Hotel Hekla in Iceland, slightly after dawn.
Awakened to a snowy landscape after a harrowing blizzard last night. The snow had finally stopped falling and all was peaceful and quiet outside. It was a carpet of white as the clouds started clearing up for the sun. In the distance, the crescent of the moon was still visible.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
It is one of the better pictures taken and appears to be a very desolate landscape but I do feel something is 'missing' from the picture, I just can't pinpoint how to improve it. Comments are very welcome, thanks!

Nice photo, just remove the bottom 20% of the picture will create a better composition. The bottom of the photo the white walk path, bring unwanted attention to the viewer.

I just thought of adding some 'diagonals' to create a more interesting pic. it does look a bit distracting though.
means i should crop the sky off too otherwise the horizon will be in the 50/50 mark.
perhaps a panorama type photo..?

anyone has any comments about the exposure? I tink my snow looks a bit grey/underexposed, but if i turn up the exposure the sky would be washed out.

it's not a problem to me to have the horizon in the middle.
But the details in the lower part brings an idea of complexity and the high contrast between the trees and the snow to me does not work for serenity and peacefulness.

that is a gd point. never noticed it, but i tink it'll work better without the strong foreground, thanks!

How about this picture?

I'm trying to capture a similar feel of the yellow flowers seemingly stretching endlessly, but it's somehow....lacking....do I need to find a bigger field???

Its a very nice view, but perhaps you could get a wide angle lens to capture more width, if you doing landscape.
