nikor 400mm f2.8 or 600mm f4

hi guys,
anyone owns a nikon 400mm f2.8? other than its price and weight... how is it compare to 600mm f4??

I am looking for a versatile prime lens that can be used for F1, sports, birding, animals ... etc.

I've rented a 500mm f4 recently and was very amazed by its sharpness at wide open.

Please I would like to hear your advise. Thanks

saw the 600mm at Peninsula (can't remember the shop name but is the middle shop amongst the last 3 shops selling lenses etc) asking for $11,600.
