Will I be able to take picture through a window grille?

Hi my scenario is imaginary as I was hoping to understand how lens work better.

1) If I have a window grill and I used a lens (e.g. 50mm f1.0) to take through it, will the quality of the photo be affected compared to one without any window grilles?

2) Same scenario, but if I am only taking center crop of the photo, will the quality of the photo be affected?

3) Same scenario, but if I am using canon 3x digital zoom (T3I), will quality of photo be affected?

I anticipate some people will say "Just open the window grille and take. But answers to the question will really help me deepen my understanding on lens. I think it a bit related to scratch and dust on lens.

Open your aperture as large as possible, turn to manual focus and perform your focusing (auto also works but there are higher tendency for focus hunting), zoom in as much as possible (though this might contradict with a large aperture setting should your lens don't support fixed aperture). This will give the least effect of obstruction due to the grilles.

Logically... No matter what you have the grille in the way, affecting the light entering the lens. crop/etc won't help there.

So pressing the lens near to the window grille will make the lens lose light. What about standing a distance from the window grill?

Then you will have a very hard time blurring out the grille as it will enter the resolvable focal plane.

That's why F1 shooters try to get as close to the fence as possible.

Try this. Hold out a finger at arm's length in front of your nose. Slowly bring it towards your nose and see what happens. There's resolvable focal plane right there.

If I translate your sentence right...

It's not a matter of manual or autofocus. And if you are far away from the fence, your "centre crop" will be a tiny square. Maybe you can get a little bit of the car. So you would get as close to the fence as possible so that:

1. the fence is blurred out
2. more of the image is unobstructed by the fence.

But all this is theory that you are obviously struggling with. Want proof? TRY IT! You have a camera, so before asking all these theoretical questions, just go try it first.
