Will pointing the DSLR at a fluorescent light source damage it?

As I was cleaning my lens placed it facing the fluorescent light for about 5 mins. Will there be any problems with the sensor or images? Now my images seems slightly blue.

You think a fluorescent light is a powerful radiation source stronger than the Sun?

No, I think it's you being super duper, 10,000,000,000% paranoid. If your images seem blue, it's most likely just you not knowing about white balance, or you messed up your screen calibration.

And how the heck were you cleaning your lens?

Maybe he used bleach, and sandblasted, then polished with Brasso and Jif, then kerosene...

In that case yeah, you may get odd color casts...
