Looks damn clean to me up to 25,600 ISO. I don't have a D700 but Mansurovs says the D800 shots are clearly better.

OK, down sampling will complicate the workflow but then I can't afford the D4.

Preproduction model. Photos taken using the cheap 50mm f1.8G some more.

Seriously poisoned by NAS (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome).

Also wanted to let everyone know that Cliff Mautner also came out with his own images

It has got high ISO Portraits.
Thanx!

Mautner has better examples, go there and see better.

I like what I seen. At 100% it looks something typical of D700 ISO characteristic or maybe D7000 to be more accurately but I am not familar with D7000. The 3200 and 6400 files certainly looks like what I get from D700. Sized down, it blows the D700 away.

could it be d7000 sensor in fx? but with better expeed processing?

As long as it's as good as d700 at 36mp, I'm sold. Heck, I'm sold already so I don't really care which is cleaner at ISO 25600.

Can lah, just make it an artistic B&W photo loh. A perfect excuse for, "I need grains in my photo, hence I need high ISO". Hahah joking :)

The pictures are awesome, every pore & hair, every blade of grass... the amount of details are incredible!

Awesome camera... especially for Landscape, Studio and macro. But AD wedding? I don't think so... 16GB card can only hold 200+ pics... so need more CF cards, HDD space, backup HDD space, faster computer for PP... and can you imagine importing and exporting pictures?? *faint*....

manage HUNDREDs of photo for one wedding.. die siah.

Yes, I don't think it's suitable for AD wedding, especially if it is an upgrade from D700. D4 will be a much better choice to upgrade for AD wedding shooter, despite the hefty price tag.
Shooting is just a small part for AD wedding, the workflow of post-processing hundreds of photos for a single wedding is more crucial. It's important to be cost and time efficient in handling the workflow.

Agree. hundreds of 36 MBps files compared to 16 MBps during AD wedding post-pro will be epic pain. Wonder if D800 can be set into lower res RAW format... that would solved the problem.
