2 calculation formulas required.

1) How to calculate the angle of rotation required for different focal length such that the image will stitch seamlessly side and downwards?

2) how to cal the number of shots required by 5D2 to take an image with high enough resolution to print on 2x3 m?
 

1) How to calculate the angle of rotation required for different focal length such that the image will stitch seamlessly side and downwards?
Focal length results in Field of View, given in degrees. Some people recommend having 50% overlapping, much means: for 50 degrees Field of View you take pictures every 25 degree stop. In both directions.
2) how to cal the number of shots required by 5D2 to take an image with high enough resolution to print on 2x3 m?
There are calculations for this already online .. main question for print resolution is the distance of the viewer. The closer it is is the higher the resolution required. Have a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_photographic_print_sizes
For 2x3m @ 300dpi you would need 24,000 x 36,000 pixels - in theory. But viewed at 5m distance I guess you only need a fraction of that to create a sharp image.
 

Thanks Oct, just what a newbie need :)

Another question. For a 20 shot pano, which sequence would facilitate easy stitching? horizontal movement, then next row or vertical movement, then next column?
