Photo presentation

Hi CSers,

Can anyone tell me the best size and/or material for a photo presentation? I am presenting to a client about my portfolio and i guess a hardcopy print would be better. I have afew panoramic size (7863x3960) and (7784x2584), i guess i would need to create black borders right? Need some expertise here! Thank you.

I am not expert but just want to share my thoughts.

I don't know if a hard copy is the best, but for me I'd like to present on my MacBook. This because, if in the middle of discussion and they ask something else, I can drag out something else to show. This way I am not limited to the 10-20 pieces of work in the hard copy portfolio.

If a hard copy is a must, then it depends on the clients that you want to make an impression to. If it's wedding photography, I'd use paper and border that looks wedding-ish(white and lacy)
It is fine arts or corporate, then a more serious tone should be set. Black border is safe.
If on the creative side, then maybe something vibrant or funky tone.
Just giving a few examples

So in summary,it depends on the impression you want to make and the type of clients. Matt or glossy photos to present also depends on the type of photography

produce hard copy is very expensive, minimum size is 8R, plus the borders will be something in 12"x14 or 12"x16" mounting board,
good quality bearve window cut mounting board is more expensive then the print itself
print size 10R is more presentable, but making twenty pieces of portfolio can easier cost $500 and above,

not forgetting you still need a very decent looking portfolio case, and carry the very heavy mounted prints to go for presentation.

I see. Thanks for the information! So I guess it's better to show on a laptop?
Because I don't think they have a projector for me to use, I'm afraid the screen would be too small. I only have a 13" MacBook pro

$500 is way out of my budget. I have several photos By the way

13" should be ok right? some show on their iPads which is 10" (roughly)..

yes, one photo print plus mounting can easily cost more than $25.00, not forgetting sometime you will reject some prints and rework them on photoshop again.
