my friend's tackle shop (along beach road) happen to have 2 available walls, so i decided to print a few pictures for her.

upon some online research, i was pleasantly surprised that poster printing can be very affordable (A1-$5, A2-$2.50, A3-$2.00 and all this is including lamination!!!). however, i was skeptical about the quality.

after consolidating about 30 images w sizes ranging from 2.55mb, 1.6mb (taken on my 30D on jpeg) and 337kb, 451kb and even 181kb (taken on some obscure toy camera and sonyericsson 750i), i decided to give it a try.

apart from some minor cropping, the images are essentially "as they were".

to summarize, to my non-critical eye, i was v v impressed!

the whole thing cost me about $80. and i doubt if a single photo of A1 size will cost below $100.

i am sure fellow enthusiast with better equipment, who took the extra effort to show RAW, do more post-process will achieve much better result.

Great, another fishingkaki into photography! Nice one! :)

oneinjet.com

i sharing my experience cus i feel many fellow photographers feel that their creativity and ability to create big prints are hampered by their equipment. this concern is usually exaggerated. most modern equipment are certainly powerful enough to achieve much.

Thanks for sharing :)

i went to try it after reading this thread. i printed an A0 poster for $10, very nice and cheap indeed.

thanks for the recommendation!

this was taken using my htc desire, known for its poor camera.
