The committee has announced the result of the salary review. PM's pay cut by 37%, President 51%, entry-level Ministers 36%.

You may read the article if it's of interest to you.

it is about transparency... especially regarding the bonus and pension..

why they can't accept CPF like the rest of us?

not to mention the cut is not much actually.

why not u compare with other countries ?

So... which country are you refering to? US? China? India? Thailand? Russia? Which one? and base on what are you referring them to our country?

I think basically the cut is quite substantial. Think of it this way... a 36% cut to your basic salary, what would it be like?

He questions your question which is questionable with regards to the position of his first question seeking a question and may appear to be a questionable question.

So you are basing on US. May I ask - why? What had Singapore's situation be like US?

In US, many people in the government don't just work for the money, they have lots of power (global). And after they retired and come down, they have the network and they could easily still be influential... worldwide. Does Singapore had that type of capability?

And does Singapore really had that massive a pool of talents (not including foreign talents) that we can pull our resources from... plus does Singapore had something that could allow the ministers and MP to have a piece of mind after they retire? I really don't think so. Without at least a bit attractive salary, it is really hard to keep talents here. I mean, ministers and MP are also human, and do you really really think that they wanted to work for us people... I don't think so.

Everyone had his/her own agenda... it is just that their agenda might benefit us in some way.

Speechless...

the pay cut money goes where??? total is how much pay cut combined????

When asked about his high pay when compared to other leaders, LKY said: "I am the highest paid, but among my peers I am the poorest".
Read what you will into that statement.

actually if you look at the rest of the governments in the world... although their pay is lesser... their perks are enormous.

right hand give, left hand take

what will the impact be on those affected about the cut???
