Getting a dry cabinet, any advices??

40L enuff or not really depend on u. do u foresee getting more lens , accessories, flash ? cause a dry cabi can last u for yrs.
am using Am-Pro brand for about 3-4 yrs already.

Getting a dry cabinet for my dslr.

any advices??
a 40L should be sufficient??

thanks alot...

what are the gears you have? and what other addition you foresee in the next few years? 30L is the basic entry level size, cannot really put alot of things... perhaps if you plan to add to your gears over time then you should consider getting 50L and above...

atm, my current current gear is canon 550d, 18-270mm tamron
would be sticking to this body for quite sometime as to gain exp instead of jumping to semi-pro series.

If thats the case..a 40L cabinet is definitely more than enough.. after which u can still store..2-3 lenses comfortably.
(Even more if u decided to squeeze them together)

Haha can think of getting another larger dry cabinet already :p

For me I'm just using a 25L dry cabinet only haha..

can store 1 d3k with 35mm 1.8g, d7k with t17-50,1 50mm 1.8g 1 55-200mm, ep1 with 14-42mm.. and there's 1 more space for another 1 or 2 lens i guess~~~

but been full house doesnt affect the performance right?... coz so far the meter maintain at 35-37%.. so it should be ok right?

and is the cabi supposed to be power on at all times?.. coz sometimes my dad will forget and turn the mains off.. but the time i reach home already see 45%.. will my equipment have any problem?

40-50% is just nice.
Too dry the grip/rubber might crack

RH should be between 40%-50%.

You have to leave it on all the time like the fridge. What's the point if the humidity keeps going up when you leave the house. The cost needed to operate the dry cabinet is very low. Guess you have to convince your father on this point

Keep it on, I read that they consume very little power. If on and off, I'm not sure good for the cam or not. Let the pro comment on this one.
