Can the admin screen photo contests posted in this forum? I suggest that if the contest involves Facebook with conditions "winner/s will be determine with the most number of likes" be subjected to your approval, if cannot totally ban them. Reason is because this is not proper way to determine the winning photographs based on the essence of every competition. Facebook is a social networking site and not photograpy expert network - unless someone starts doing an account with photo experts in Facebook. A find it disgraceful to the true meaning of competition.

winning photos based on total number of likes is a way to gain publicity for companies.
but this erodes the true meaning of photography and what is stands for.
people will start to view sub-standard images that win due to large number of votes as the de-facto standard for photography.
is this what, as a photography forum, aim to do?
different competitions target different types of people.
even if u have photo experts, who decides who are the experts?
there will bound to be disagreements.
no point trying to screen such stuff. not happy, dun join.

competitions are lucky draws. they are subjective. move on already
i suppose kokobanana is trying to point out where the direction of "good images" are heading towards. photos based on how many votes you can harass/buy off people.
