1.in what area is critique to be sought?

I will like feedback on the composition and post processing techniques. I use Lightroom and photomatix (HDR merging) and CS5 for just border and watermark (experimenting)

2.what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?

A Good HDR Photo on Art Science Museum and Reflection of our CBD Building

3.under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)

I took this picture while it is drizzling. Planning to catch a sunset at MBS but is cloudy due to rain.

4.what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture

Personally, I like this picture because i feel it is ok to my view. therefore need more critique from fellow photographer on how to improve.
I feel that the picture can be better if i can do a better composition and better post processing technique

Hi,

I'd comment on the composition first. I think it's a rather pleasant composition. The titanic poster is a wee bit distracting but there's nothing to be done about that. My only gripe is that your reflections of Shenton Way are cut off. This can be done by moving left - and yes, putting your tripod into the pond. So you'd have the Art Science Museum glass part, the staircase, and the reflections of Shenton Way in more completeness.

Processing wise, I think the job is pretty well done. A bit too much yellow side - I'd personally correct that part to make it less neon-like (the part to the right of the staircase)... But it is generally ok. One important point that you may wish to note is that your reflections are a smudge brighter than the sky. That's something that is undesirable.

Thanks edutilos. Ya i was wondering how can i include the whole reflection of the building without placing my tripod on the pond ( without getting security guard ranting of course)

Yes i do increase the saturation/lumi on the yellow side using Lightroom3 (wish to make it to have a sunset feeling). Thanks for the feedback.

Put one leg in should be ok... I've done it before. :bsmilie:

I have no details on what steps you have taken, but I suspect this arises because of very strong tone mapping during the HDR process. If you dial down the strength it will help somewhat. Alternatively, you can layer and darken the top layer, then erase such that only the reflections are darkened..

Looks to me a wee bit slanted to the right, otherwise a great image.
