Maybe i shouldn't look up to Leica too much but it sure makes me feel the FA 43mm Limited to be even more special!

That is how good and special the 43ltd is.

Pentax FA43 is ssssooooooo good, Leica also wanted one to use on their RF cameras, that's why they asked Pentax to make one for them

Pentax can't just make all their best lenses for Leica, they need to keep some bests for themselves

hmmm... pretty reasonable in price too, compared to the insanity of leica lenses on ebay now. limited edition some more... but too bad too close to my 50/f1.4... or else might consider. :think:

A. One can never have enough fiftys...

and

B.Its not a 50, its a 43mm!

That lens was introduced in year 2000 and only 2000 pcs produced.

Owned two copies but sold them. High contrast and the SMC coating made it virtually flare proof.

i'm curious. for a leica user, what did you like and what didn't you like about the FA43Ltd?

I guess they liked it because of its excellent optical and built quality, but didn't keep it because, well, it's not a Leica. Pentax is a 3rd party lens maker to Leica users

Ya... i hvnt shot many rolls of film but so far the best film shots have come out of my FA 43Ltd

So sad, the rear element of the lens need to be disassambled. Hope he won't sell the lens to pentax user in the future.

The lens' blocking the viewfinder area somemore.

I wonder why didn't he buy a k mount body instead, 20-50 bucks can get one. can focus properly and easily.

maybe he didn't know that an MX body would have been just as compact... or maybe he just likes RFs...

Yes, some of the RF users love 50mm range lenses - am also in this category ;p
