anybody know where can i repair it other than going NCS? Called them this morning and the repair fee is quite high...

You can check with 3rd party repair operations. Personally I trust my gears to our famous bro here named fatigue.

....the problem is the card slot is part of the PCB board, its a 200-300 dollars replacement, one of my friends' canon camera had the same problem a couple of years ago, he jammed the card wrong way in.
Not that bad. Mine cost nearly 800 to fix. You get a third party to fix the thing and the item gets damaged, there is a chance that NSC might not even want to touch that camera.
At least for some models, it is a separate smaller PCB board. I got it replaced for a camera for very very much less than what you mentioned. And there was no complex operation involved, just a swap of the PCB board.

Pro bodies are a different matter. Parts are probably more expensive as well, and the card reader PCB board may be integrated with other things. Service Centers will never desolder and replace the pin slots, they will just replace the entire PCB board, which usually explains the cost.
And seriously, if you get someone who knows what they are doing to do the repairs, it should be fine. Also, there are many cases, where 3rd party repair shops try to fix something and are unsuccessful. I have heard they actually send it on to NSC to get it done at times. So, NSC in SG might be a lot more accommodating to 3rd party repair facilities here in SG than you imagine.

You should screw the bugger who broke the pin, irregardless of where you send it in... :bsmilie:
IIRC, the cost of replacing the card reader PCB quoted by NSC for my cam was $190 in 2010... But a lot depends on the cam model as well. In the end I got it done for a lot less, and the PCB replaced is a new original Nikon part too.
