Are we alone in the universe?

No way we are alone in these universe... but I'm more worry about the coming world wide recession than any Alien Invasion.

Dunno what Mr Alien likes la. Money? Gold? whatever. Young, pretty gals? If they ever come, there muz be something that they muze be after.

If you have money, world wide recession sounds like a great news - can buy up properties and stocks on the cheap.

But then what is it for? Not many people can rent it, and companies go bankrupt. The best thing for everyone is actually a good wealth distribution.

"There are 400 billion stars out there just in our galaxy alone. If only one out of a million of those had planets, and just one out of a million of those had life, and just one out of a million of those had intelligent life, there would be literally millions of civilizations out there." - Jodie Foster in the film Contact adapted from the Carl Sagan novel of the same name.

Taking into account the above statement and the fact that there are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe and you have the principle of mediocrity.

However, how many intelligent life out of the million will have capability and technology to cross a vast space of million of light years? From this undetermined number (x) of space faring intelligent life, what is the probability of them choosing to visit our solar system? X/400billion.... Striking sg toto first prize probably have a better chance.

Even taking into account of the hundreds of billion of observable galaxies... Probability is still really low and this compounded by the fact they have to take million of million of years just to cross from one galaxy to another... Even with space warping technology... Time spend on travel will be unimaginable long...

My opinion, there are probably millions of million intelligent life out there. Chances of any of them come visiting us...in the near future... is a number that is almost zero...

Ps...I hope I am wrong. :)

Just a thought....

100 years ago, if you tell people that in the future... alot of people will travel around the world in large 'Airplane'... most would said you are crazy.
150 years ago, If you tell people that in the future... we can communicate in 'real time' over 1000 of kilometers... most would said you are crazy.
200 years ago, If you tell people that in the future... doctors could transplant a Heart, Kidney, Liver from a dead or living person to another... the Church would burn you for Witchcraft.

Therefore... if another intelligent race is a 1000 year ahead of us... God knows what kind of technology they might have... warping space might be the 1st step... travelling through wormhole to reduce the distance could next

Going by early civilization record, the god and gods that mankind worship are actually beings from another planets. The aliens are supposedly highly intelligent beings who enslaved people on planet Earth to work for them. They have in their possession technologies that control the people at that time and made them mavel. The aliens were subsequently worshipped as gods, to this day.

PLANET X, NIBIRU, ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS, NASA, MARS, EARTH

Don't mean to start a religious debate/argument here but if you refer to the book of Genesis in the Old Testament, there are many reference to the Summerian record.

Yes, we are not alone. The question is when will the solar alignment facilitate another visit by aliens.

Go back go sleep guys. :)

You are the only one still sleeping? :bsmilie:

Dont say universe. Even in our own world, we also got weird creatures staying with us. Maybe there are vampire, zombie, werewolf etc.. around. Just that we dont see them, doesn't mean they dont exist.

So call ET, maybe are we own human in few thousands years later and they process the technology we dont own now. Plus maybe all the climate changes, we become like a ET, no longer the human look we are having now.

We just got avg 70-80 years of life. We can't see so far. Just stays happy now can liao. :D
