Pentax Centre for Technical issue?

Just for a little note, I am having some issue with the battery slot. It seems to drain battery very fast. But actually the battery is still well-usable in other electronics device.
are u're using K-X or K-R with normal AA batteries or normal rechargeable batteries?
if so, its not a problem - the camera uses up normal batteries very fast. we normally use sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries. they last longer.
anyway, servicing is done by the local distributor.

If you are sending your product for repairs in the Singapore Emjay Customer Care department, follow the steps below:
1) Place the product in a box and cushion it witha generous amount of bubble wrap or other impact absorbing materials. Wrap the box in plastic to protect it against moisture.
2) Place copies of the original purchase invoice and the warranty registration in a clear plastic holder and attach it securely on top of to the box.Send the box to the address shown above.
3) Terms & conditions apply.

It is because like K-x, you have to set the correct type of battery setting....
Lithium is 1.5v, will go 1.4v if the batt going to use up...
recharge NIMH is only 1.2v, will go 1.1v if the batt going to use up...
if you set "Lithium" and put in "NIMH" it will show red bar very fast.... because Camera expecting 1.5v but you feeding it 1.2v... so will think that the batt going dead soon
if you set "NIMH" and put in "Lithium" it will show green bar all the way until it dead.... because Camera expecting 1.2v but you feeding it 1.5v... so will think that the batt still have a lot of power when it going down to 1.4v, then you will have issue on green bar a sec ago, suddenly cannot even power on the cam...
so if you think that drain battery very fast but actually the battery is still well-usable in other electronics device, i think you are belongs to set "Lithium" and put in "NIMH" case...

can I buy another year of warranty at the end of the extended 1yr warranty?

Take the XX one... OP personal say the red one I have is the same as the XX... Just that XX was precharged...
