Age is catching up on me. DSLR is getting heavier by the years. Thought of changing to a 4/3 system with interchangeable lens , which is a good set? Any recommendation?

Get Sony nex 5N

Got to see what budget u have.

5N is really good. I'm tempted to get one too.

Wait for Xmas promo.

ya im waiting, but sad sg don stock body only.. all with the kit eh..

I would suggest an APS-C camera + a mirrorless cam with "multipurpose" lens.
ie, X100/X1/Sigma DP series, Sony Nex5n +18-200 or m4/3 with 14-140/150mm.

Olympus EP3, EPL3 for the rangefinder looks, sensor shake reduction and nice OOC jpegs
Panasonic GH2, G3 for the newer higher res sensor and ISO performance.

m4/2 lenses are usable on both brands, so no issues here.

Well, budget is depends how much I can get from my current set.

Current own:
D300
D70
SB 600
300mm F4
50mm f/1.8
DX 12-24mm f/4
DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5
DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
DX 35mm f/1.8G
DX 10.5mm f/2.8

and some others 3rd party accessories.

you have pretty good setup... wanna consider getting a used M9 + some Zeiss/ Voigtlanders? :)

Actually also what you normally shoot or wanted to shoot would determine what type of mirrorless camera you would go into. Please take a look at Ricoh's GXR too, pretty nifty camera and won't cost you a house.

For me personally, I would go for the E-P3 if I was ever going to change my E-PL1 or 7D. I am used to Olympus and I like Olympus' camera... especially their lenses.

Currently, m4/3 has the most comprehensive set of lenses, followed by NEX.

Have you handled any of the bodies? Most of them are the rangefinder style, with small grips. The exception will be the GH2.

IQ wise, yes. But in terms of form factor and weight, I only see it as marginally smaller than a DSLR - not small enough to entice me anyway. Same big lenses, awkward shape (essentially holding a lump of lens), and worse of all - no viewfinder. At my age, with my reading glasses (presbyopia), it is a challenge to shoot via the LCD screen.

I think you can always get the optional viewfinder accessory (I think they do make one). But like you say, I wouldn't want to get the NEX because of the awkward shape which I simply don't like.

Adding the optional viewfinder ($$$) also adds to the weight and form factor - like I say, only marginally smaller and lighter than a entry level DSLR.

Ricoh GXR and Olympus E-P3 is on my list. Wonder where to sell my set or should I just trade it.

Can sell in our buy and sell section... or ebay.

The NEX bodies are actually really light in weight. Even lighter than the PENs generally.

NEX currently not so comprehensive yet... think only around 4 lenses officially released so far... but think more will be released soon :)
