Is this common? Or I am the luckiest one.

I've cleaned the sensor and lift up the mirror to check. The sensor surface looked perfect. I tried with different lens and different aperture slower than F8. The spot remained.

Just found this after using it for almost one month. I seldom stop down to F8 or more. Wonder who had the same experience and how the problem was resolved.

You might want to send it in for servicing.

common if you often change lens outdoors in windy situation,

as tiny dust got on the sensor, the dust normally is every small, around 3 px, imagine you have 12MegaPixel on the sensor,
so you can imagine how small and tiny looks like in human eyes.

try clean it yourself following this video,
How to clean your sensor (and what not to do) - YouTube

or use the pentax dust removal function or sensor self cleaning shaking function in the camera following the manual.

or send for someone else for cleaning, sgcamerastore do sensor cleaning for 20 SGD, this sunday i saw it

Sparkling. Don't waste that $$. This might be the sensor stains. Send back to the service center.

Thanks for all the reply Guys. I sent it back to Emjay today. The gentleman did a very quick check and said it could be sensor stain. Need to send to Japan and repair.... It will take a 3 to 4 weeks. So I bring back first as I need to use for the coming weeks.

Btw, Emjay looks like a normal office rather than service center. Don't even have a counter. Looks like they cannot provide any service except to send the product back to Japan. I thought they would at least do a cleaning for the sensor before identifying the problem.

Just to make you feel better; My friend wanted to get his focusing screen on his D90 replaced (he messed it up trying to put in a 3rd party one). He was told it will take 3 weeks. ;)

But I certainly agree than Emjay should strive for better turn around times.

Not sure if Emjay has any technician there now but for my case, lens release button (just the small little plastic) fell out. Was told need to send to Japan..:( now the cam still in Japan since beginning of this month :( seriously they should have someone in sg to look into this kinda small issue..
