Hi guys came across a photography competition and saw the posing of photo requirement size - A3 size at 150 dpi any lower resolution will be ignored. I was thinking, if you want A3 size and at 150 dpi, wouldn't that be lower than A4 size at 300 dpi? A3 size is alot bigger than A4. Wouldn't the picture in A3 turn out to be soft than the A4? Just curious. Hope the seniors here could enlighten me.. thks :bigeyes::bigeyes:

IMHO, if they set at A3 at 300dpi, you might even have more problem to achieve, isn't it ? 
It doesn't really makes a lot of differences, unless the competition is about which photographer deliver sharper images. Unless I'm mistaken, story is what photography is about
In any case, your audience will appreciate the A3 photographs better from a further distance which actually 150dpi isn't that bad for tone images. That doesn't prevent someone from sticking his face at 1cm from the photograph and appreciate the half-toning though, but I do question which perspective the fella is appreciating the photograph from.

Just curious to find out the idea of having A3 in 150 dpi. Since senior here have mentioned it, meaning they are likely to print the awarded picture out in a larger format for showcasing purposes and yah, come to think of that 300 dpi is very expensive if they were ever to print it out in larger format.. Thks for pointing that out to me..
