Definitely, the 24-70mm itself cost 10 times more than the d7k kit lens.YOU BET!
its unfair to compare my ex kit lens on d7k to 24-70mm on a full frame... the latter definitely has a killer IQ!!
is the Pic quality alot diff?
Hi TS, it's like asking if the Toyota is a lot diff compared to the Ferrari.
However, what for buying a Ferrari if you don't know how to drive or have no intention to learn to fully utilize the engine power of Ferrari?
What for buying a Ferrari if you can't drive more than 120km/hr on the road?
What for buying a Ferrari if you only drive it out once or twice a month?
It's all depend on your needs and budget actually.

Comparing toyotaa to ferrari, a better ground is nikkor len vs top-notch carl zesis or leica len.

isn't its all about showing off??
I'm not a pro but I bought a full frame to take advantage of its sensory size.... I'm not a pro, so am I limited to entry level body and accessories??
All these are argumentative.
To each its own, we can only contribute to TS on our advises and experience, without crossing others boundaries.
I strongly believe that no cropped body can match up to a digital full frame body in terms of overall performance as of today.
I own a D700. I compared side by side shooting with my friends D7000. I think the IQ is very close. D700 is slightly better but very slightl in high ISO. But I think the D7000 is better for DR.
Wat is DR...
