Anyone ? .......

me me me!!!

bought d7k from IT show, sold it off in less than 2months. Bite the bullet and bought
-d700
-24-70/2.8
-50/1.4

is the Pic quality alot diff?

YOU BET!

its unfair to compare my ex kit lens on d7k to 24-70mm on a full frame... the latter definitely has a killer IQ!!

I strongly believe that no cropped body can match up to a digital full frame body in terms of overall performance as of today.

Definitely, the 24-70mm itself cost 10 times more than the d7k kit lens.

Yeah considering D700. But there's nothing wrong with my D40x so wa mm zai leh.. I need more people to encourage me to upgrade.. bleh Dx

Hi TS, it's like asking if the Toyota is a lot diff compared to the Ferrari.

However, what for buying a Ferrari if you don't know how to drive or have no intention to learn to fully utilize the engine power of Ferrari?
What for buying a Ferrari if you can't drive more than 120km/hr on the road?
What for buying a Ferrari if you only drive it out once or twice a month?

It's all depend on your needs and budget actually.

U comparing wrong thing.
A better comparison is toyota and lexus.
Cheapstake low end made in thailand toyota, aka dx body.
VS
high end made in japan toyota aka lexus , aka fx body.

Comparing toyotaa to ferrari, a better ground is nikkor len vs top-notch carl zesis or leica len.

Whaaa... Ot ot ot!

I dun wanna rec'd another pm warning from mods....

Whatever it is :)
It's not about high-end or low-end. It's about performance, versatility and reliability. Camera and lenses are just tools rather than a stylish branded stuff.

I'm not a F1 driver, so I buy a Ferrari to show off... I'm also buying a d700+24-70 lens to show off its IQ.

isn't its all about showing off??
I'm not a pro but I bought a full frame to take advantage of its sensory size.... I'm not a pro, so am I limited to entry level body and accessories??

All these are argumentative.
To each its own, we can only contribute to TS on our advises and experience, without crossing others boundaries. :)

No you are not. You are just happily allowing the manufacturer to exploit you, an average consumer the same way they exploited those professionals. Exploit might be too strong a word but I see it as exploitation.

iq is one thing but unless one is doing some serious large size print, I see no point of doing it. Anyway, not my money, just do what you want and enjoy it. cheers.

My 2 cents... it's the shooter and not the camera. I agree that good equipment does have some impact on IQ but IQ alone does not make great pictures... just a personal opinion.

I own a D700. I compared side by side shooting with my friends D7000. I think the IQ is very close. D700 is slightly better but very slightl in high ISO. But I think the D7000 is better for DR.
