Looking for more sample shots from the Panasonic Leica 45mm f2.8 macro lens as well.

Anyone here can share some nice photos?

Wow.... They are really nice!

Are they all taken with 45mm macro lens? Looks really sharp and the Colour rendition and creamy bokeh is superb!

Time to check out the 45mm f2.8 macro lens!

Just managed to borrow a Panasonic Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8 Macro Lens from a close buddy and was wondering what to shoot to test the lens... but nothing to test at home. Suddenly realised that there is a very tiny moth of around 1cm width on the wall and quickly took a shot!

This is my first macro shot so please pardon me for the inferior shot! The moth in macro looks scary, but I am amazed by the sharpness and details of the macro lens!

No wonder some website reviewed this as the 45mm macro lens as the sharpest lens and best macro lens!

Do you have a chance to compare this with the latest pana Leica 25mm 1.4? From your pictures, I think the 45mm is quite a bit sharper than my 25mm 1.4!

Macro lenses are usually the sharpest prime lenses and are optically designed to be sharp from centre to edge. That's why they are more expensive than normal prime lenses of the same focal length. The main compromise is that the AF speed tends to be slower. This Panasonic 45mm macro is Leica designed and therefore have to live up to the Leica name in image quality I suppose and is sharp wide-opened at f/2.8. Luckily also the AF is not really that slow for this lens.

To compare with the Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4, it might be fair to compare at the same aperture setting ie f/2.8 unless you want to just see how sharp the 2 lenses are when shot wide-opened. So far I have not tried the 25mm at f/2.8 yet.

It would be interesting to see how the Leica 45mm compares with the yet to be released and cheaper Olympus 45mm f/1.8 though.
