So that the themes can really be announced on time according to itinerary given. Last year even when the emcee should be revealing the next theme could still see people submitting photo for previous theme which was way pass the cut off time.

0700hrs Start of on-site registration
0830hrs Competition Brief
0900hrs Announcement of Theme 1
1200hrs Deadline for Theme 1 submission, Theme 2 concurrently announced
1500hrs Deadline for Theme 2 submission, Theme 3 concurrently announced
1800hrs Deadline for Theme 3 submission
1930hrs Announcement of results and commencement of Prize Presentation ceremony
2000hrs End of Event

last year was messy.

drumroll emcee wasnt helping also

Feel the organising is quite messy last year, with the prize ceremony dragged till quite late.

As cut off timing, since there is quite a huge number of people. I think Canon should cut the queue on time, with a big digital clock (like those counting the Marathon timings) on the queue enter point, to be fair with everyone.

This year have to be there earlier to have a XL T-shirt...don't wan't to show my body curves again....

I will be joining you.

Yeah. Last year got only S size left. I showed off a lot of midriff.

Many aunties were ogling at my beer belly.

Possibly they mentally believe they were S Size but the laws of physics dictate the shirt they wear must be bigger size to accomodate the larger mass.

i am pretty sure we are not alone in going early to get the size we want...i can confirm and chop there will be a crowd queuing for the shirts even before dawn.

Perhaps even rivalling that of the crowd queuing for the $100-ish Touchpad.

Unfortunately, chances are a number of the L and larger sized will be gone since the volunteers/staff shirts should be from the same pool.

You can buy one of these and wear it under the shirt.

It had been similar situation for the past years. Becoming a trend. Participated for four years, always the same. Come early for registration and staying late for prize giving.
I still recall, I and my friend came around 6am when they haven't set up the registration counter. :bsmilie:. We are the first 5 in the queue. This year will not be going through the whole competition and will be dropping out after the 2nd theme. I am treating this as a gathering to meet some long time never meet friends. :)

This year I'll be there to just to collect the Canon Photo Marathon T-shirt.

Whatever the first theme is I'm going to shoot my fist with office towers at the background and submit.

Then go to Big Mac for Mac breakfast.

After that retire to Starbucks to Limp Kopi and watch people outside sweating and shooting in the sun. :bsmilie:

You have to wait at least an hour for image submission. I think they haven't completely set up the counter after the annoucement of the first theme. :)
I recall my fastest image submission was on the spot right after the theme annouced and it was taken using a fisheye. :bsmilie:

I also going to MAC for breakfast. Do you want to meet up together? I want to see the Famous Sion in person.:)

You'll know me when you see me.

I'm the prettiest with the biggest lens.

After MAC we'll go to disco to dance. OK?

If you are the person in the image, I will be honoured. Maybe we can drop by my friend's studio for a model shoot after I collected my system. :)

Sorry I am a nice boy, I don't go disco. :embrass:

Last year one auntie saw our T shirts and came and asked us what event was we celebrating.

I told her it's Canon National Day. :bsmilie:

See got size or not..otherwise many will simply wear their own camera brand shirts like Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax...etc since they fit swee swee.

But I saw many female shooters asked for 1 size smaller to show off their figures. :bsmilie:

That one is fine...but imagine if try already and then they request changed to another size. So what happens to the Used shirt? LOL to the next person.
