I have an assignment by my teacher and she ask me to take 5 picture about " The Bright Side of Life " But i don't know where to start taking photo from cause i'm an newbie. Somemore the dateline is on 26 August. Help me guys, please define me " The Bright Side of Life " ):

if have already have some ideals of what to shoot but don't know how to shoot, so asking questions here to get some help, this is still acceptable.

you have no head no tails of what to do, asking people define the topic for you, this is like asking people here to do your homework.

young man, you need to do your homework yourself.

It is such a generic, well-understood, common term. You can even google "the bright side of life" to get some ideas.

Please lah, don't expect us to do your homework for you. Or at least make sure to give us full credits for our ideas. ;)

well this is the first time i've seen ppl asking for help in homework over here. Chill, all u need are some inspiration and the right moment to capture. u can even do it at home if it manages to capture the feel of what you're trying to portray.

I'll be blunt.

This is laziness extreme.

You might be a newbie to the camera but I hope you are not a newbie to thinking. Your teacher wants to see the process as well, the way how you get your images and why. This is not a multiple choice questionnaire where only the correct marks count. I even suspect there are no correct marks and no wrong ones. Open your mind, ask yourself, ask other.. You have to explain how and why the image you submit matches the topic.

Maybe u tell us first, what do you understand by the title? Describe what u think is a bright side of life.

You must first have an idea of what the topic is about... maybe you could walk around the streets, alley, seaside, whatever and see what you could relate to that topic.

Hmm, i don't meant to ask you all for doing my assignment but i have no tail of doing it. I have went bencoolen to take photographs of disable selling tissue paper and i think it is the bright side of life for him despite of high cost of living but he still come out to earn a living, what do you guys think. I'm sorry for all the misunderstood ):

if u feel happy for him then it's the bright side of life, if u feel sad then i guess it's not. it's simple, just search your feelings.

Get yourself a wheelchair, some old haggard clothes, sit there and do the same. See where you find the bright side of this life.

Its art... very difficult for any of us to give you details... or it will just be like other people's work. The only thing that I can advice on is that you looked at the photos you have taken and come up with a story or explanation of it, in case your lecturer would be asking.

You might want to google a bit to see what others have done with similar topics like - Bright and Life.

Yes... i agree on searching online for photos on the same theme. Not asking you to copy their ideas but at least have some form of inspiration. Otherwise look at the gallery section and see if any photos give you some ideas on your theme.

If you think that describes the theme "The Bright Side of Life", then so be it :) Ultimately it's your interpretation of it.
Art is very subjective, as many have mentioned.

Bright side of life in my opinion means happy.. Happy to me can be equated with sunrise over a large meadow ( hint ), pets running around ( hint hint ), kids having fun ( hint hint hint ), elderlies having a good time laughing ( hint hint hint hint ), couples looking happy together ( hint x5) or many many more.. Tts my opinion la.. A turtle staring at food also can be a happy thing.. Its up to u how u define bright side ya.. Hope it helps. Best of luck!

Just over expose every photo u shoot.

ta-dah! bright side of life.

Dear TS, It would seem you have led a sheltered life or a charmed one.Have you no personal experience of disappointment, failure, hurt or
sadness? Yet despite the experience you find the courage to live life and carry on,thinking there's more to life? Did you not see the images of destruction, death, sadness of the japan earthquake and tsunami victims? Yet the victims of the disaster are glad to be alive
while over 20,000 of their people have died, most are buried in the mud or swept out to sea. That's the bright side of life, they get to live another day.

So basically the bright side of life means looking or comparing the contrast of opposites like day and night, laughter and sadness,
hard and soft,in essence the experience of humans in situations of apparent contradictions.eg. a wheelchair bound person attempting to climb a mountain. An armless person painting with his/her toes or playing the piano and enjoys it.Do you see the obvious contrast when
normal humans find it almost impossible or unheard of.It does not only apply to physically challenged people but normal people to.Eg. there is flooding in the streets but children take it as a temporary wading pool, splashing water with joy despite the rain.

The assignment is simple find scenes that show the apparent contradiction of human experience.I don't think that is hard, just look, observe ,they are everywhere if you care to see. Hope this helps.:) Hint... joy and sadness, every cloud has a silver lining. Both contradictions must be present in the scene or the obvious implication of the opposite condition.

I can understand how this felt.
maybe this link, this link and this link will help.

The theme reminds me of the song that goes 'Always look on the bright side of life'. Maybe the MTV can shed some light :)
