Hi Seniors,

I'm facing some problems with my new D7000. When I tried taking picture without any tripod, my pictures will come out blur even though there's sufficient lights. Why is this so? I've tried adjusting the ISO, i check the VR on the lens and it's on, tried to choose a lower Fstop and faster shutter speed but it's still blur. Why is this so? I've no problem with my old semi pro camera. Please help!!!

are you getting sharp image on d7K LCD? can post an image of any lens at f8 with flash on?

care to share a photo (with exif data) to show the blur? what settings did u use during that shot?

it might be an AF issue, dirty sensor/lens, etc. but need more info to be sure

1) What lens are you using?
2)Has the lens achieved focus lock?
3) What subject are you focusing on?
4)Was the subject you are focusing on was stable and not moving?

Trouble shooting of this type of issue would include,

1) Use another lens to see if the pic is sharp or still blur.
2) Focus on another subject or subjects with the same lens to see if you get a sharp and clear pic.

It might be a focus issue, from what I understand, Nikon's D7000 had micro adjustment capability for you to fine tune your lens to your camera's focusing. But the best way is to post your photo to this forum with EXIF info. Also please state what you are focusing on.

I think the best will be to post a sample with EXIF info; else all we can do is make wild guesses about your issue.

i'd like to know though, what was the shutter speed and the length of the lens when you encountered your problems

For your camera settings under "a1 AF-C priority selection", did you choose "RELEASE"?

Same for a2 AF-S... did you choose RELEASE?

You categorized it as blurred when shot without tripod. I assume that means with a tripod your camera focuses fine? Sounds like a case of shaky hands to me. What focal length and shutter speed are you using?

Like everyone said, post a picture, preferrably with EXIF data.

I think soon got shoot first focus later camera coming.

No news from TS? :dunno:

Blur even with sufficient light, what focal length, what shutter speed?

I mean, some people seem to think it's ok shooting at 300mm at 1/10 seconds shutter speed.. Sure, sometimes you'll be ok, mosto f the times not..

If everything is fine and it is as you say, that the equivalent values give you ok pictures with old semi-pro camera and you are aware of what you are doing, then suggest you test it out on tripod, could be front/back focusing problem.
