I'm looking for a fisheye lens for my Pentax KR,
budget below $800 possible ?

auto or manual focus will do fine.
any recommendations ?

i read about the 10-17mm its just a semi fish-eye right ?

my friend has a samyang 8mm, and i quite like it.
is the rokinon 8mm and samyang 8mm the same ?

It is not. I am not sure what you mean by semi fisheye, but the 10-17mm has a 180 degrees field of view at 10mm so it is a fisheye.

Zenitar 16mm f2.8

With $800 budget, definitely DA 10-17mm. Small and light, got AF.

DA 10-17mm is a fisheye at 10mm. Its a 'semi fisheye' at 17mm

Yes, they are the same lens, rebranded for various sellers.

With 10mm your feet can be included in the picture if you are not careful. Anything less than 10mm, you may have to hold the camera at arm's length.

With pentax's own offering of the 10-17 at such cheap price, i dont think there's any other alternative given that you have the budget.

Here's what i was told by the shop in JB specialized in pentax gears, and i'm quoting the guy: "The 10-17 is the best selling lens among all the more expensive pentax lenses"

Just look at the offerings from Canikons, they are basically fix focal lengths with sky high prices.
