What DSLR Camera to get for Wedding?

Hi, I'm new in the forum and I'm new in this trade too.
I have just grad from Poly and worked for a while, but I have been wating to be a videographer for weddings.
Can anyone please advise me what DSLR camera and accessories should I get if I wanted to turn pro?

Most people use 5Dm2 or 7D if using DSLR to film weddings. You will also need a rig to mount the camera(s) on to. You will also need some continuous video lights. And you can really use some tripods, maybe steady-cam, etc...

instead of just watching and going WOW... try to identify how they achieve each shot, and what equipment they are using to achieve that movement.

If you want to be a videographer, you should either use a video cam, or if die die must be dSLR, then think if you are comfy with manual focus or you want autofocus. FYI, some compact PnS cameras easily beat a DSLR for video too, but you may not get the same DOF effects.

As for "what DSLR", you can even get an entry-level DSLR if your skills are adequate. Most entry-level wedding photographers I see use entry-level DSLRs. If you are serious about using it for video, you should invest in gimbalhead mount rigs, stabilization setups, etc. But then that may be "too over" and the costs will be so high that you will need to charge extra, and if your skillset and experience can't match then you will have flushed a lot of $$$ down the drain.

The D7000 offer excellent video capability with AF too. Another choice would be the bigger, more expensive (much more) and more capable D3s.

But frankly speaking, don't just limit yourself to Nikon (and Canon)... look at other choices in the market. Heard that the K-5 is pretty good too, share the same sensor as the D7000 and Sony A55 (I think).

As for wanting to turn pro, I would advice you to get the FF cameras, they have much better noise control and high ISO. But for FF cameras (not sure about the other brands) Nikon's offering is only the D3 (having video capability) while Canon would be 5DmkII and 1D.

Which one? You need to BE SPECIFIC. Honestly, if your questions are so basic with obviously little or no research (you can read all about a camera's video functions in any review...) then I don't think you're ready yet. You need to know and understand your gear if you want to be successful with it.

Yes, but only the slow CDAF. You don't get the fast PDAF of other brands.

Not necessarily... Modern APS-C sensors have pretty much closed the gap there, with the exception of the D3/D3s/D700 sensor.

The newer models are ok for video, just avoid the D90/D300s/D5000 generation.

Color: About the same with all, and easily adjusted in-camera as well.
Compo: Composition? That has nothing to do with the DSLR.
Low noise: Modern APS-C are even better.

Most people will do color adjustment during editing and PP.

But it's easier to just set the parameters in the camera settings and then shoot.

FULL FRAME and i will say Sony A850 for the money and peformance. Separate video from photographer, cannot do 2 things at one go.

oh i see.. never shot a video for very long liao and i think i should use the video function of my A33 soon. no point letting a good video function go to waste right? oops.. OT..

TS. A rig to mount the camera so that you will be able to hold the camera steady for an extended period of time. Something like this.

and preferably with a better external microphone.
