East forever and ever
I know the DBSS scheme is a "Don't Be So Stupid" scheme.

But nonetheless, me n husband have just gotten ourselves a unit here. Just curious to know, any potential neighbours I have in here?? :bsmilie:

good buy... this may be the last DBSS we'll see for a while :)

Not really. Got 5 more sites which have been sold and scheduled for dbss development. Heart pain sia sign all documents. LOL.

HOW TO BUY MY 10-22mm already?!!! Lol!

Well it seems Mr Khaw will be reviewing the DBSS issue for now after all the pressure.
Sometimes I wonder how my kids in future are going to pay for their flats..

Anyhow .. OT ..

Just when you thought HDB under Mr Khaw will tone down after the housing cost issue was raised during the last election, and we have a HDB flat with price that rival the condos, lol.

It's just a place to live. The most important thing during this stage of life is to ensure that you have found the "right" partner to live with you for the rest of your life. It's sad, but true that a lot of friends and people I know are having problems with their other half in the later stage of their life. Why? maybe this world is moving too fast and most women are getting too independent and successful?:think::think:

My advice is NEVER get yourself in too much debt, instead enjoy whatever you can safely afford and have. Forget about status and the rat-race!

I am not rich so for me its just an over price HDB... but for ppl who can afford it why not... as long as its what you want... but personally if i can afford it... i would have consider EC... makes more money sense...

Or rather, the DBSS is a project that will start adjusting and marking up the price of the other condos proper..

Well said. But with the increasing property prices even for folks who build affordable housing for Singaporeans, I cannot help but to think the future generation will all be in heavy debts in future.. All start signing up 40 yr loan.

Yup definitely. The private property developer will say, hey even HDB flats are selling at that price, why shouldn't our premium private housing be selling more?

Unfortunately over the years, I think HDB has forgotten their prime objective, which is to provide affordable housing for Singaporeans.

My friend who bought the City view Boon Keng DBSS previously already super duper happy with the Tampiness DBSS pricing. 4.5 yrs later, kaching!

Cannot comment much on the objective of HDB though. Lets see what KBW will do from now on. After all he already say he cannot stop the prev on going projects liao.

How Ms koplady11 has found any neighbours yet ? :p

Congrats ryu!! Finally you found a place! :):) happy for you la. :bsmilie:

I think people are mistaking me for a "rich" stupid buyer, which... I cannot blame (LOL). Well as a matter of fact, this was our last resort. We had 3 failed BTO ballots (1 had an impossible q no, the other 2 just plain unsuccessful), 1 cancelled HDB appt under sale of balance flats (coz by then fully taken up) and for the past 2 mths we had been actively looking out for resale, only for our counter-offered COV ($46k at its highest) to be rejected by seller/seller's agent. Technically, we were at a point of desperation, anytime longer we stick it out, COV's gonna just increase two-fold eventually. We were thinking EC as a more viable option, but we not that cash-rich lah! Wahpiang, how much sia the 15%???

I actually had a papercut holding the Centrale 8 booklet last Sat. My sis said, its true its a sign, they're gonna cut ur blood for this. PITY US CAN!!! :bsmilie:

No lar not implying you're "stupid", just complaining about the higher and higher cost of public housing. Congrats on your new house btw. :) I'm sure you're very excited about it. :)

I was crying at the useless balcony space outside master bedroom lehh. :bsmilie:

Yes, I'm providing fellow cs-ers a real-life case study of how the policies had screwed up. Victimised sia. But what to do, our main concern is a roof over our heads for now. the longer we wait, the worse it becomes.

Btw, OT a bit, this is my colleague's story. Enjoy!

Out of curiosity, which 3 BTO ballots did you participate in?

We bought what we could afford ie. a tiny 84 sqm. See the showroom first time, wanna puke. See the showroom 2nd time, wanna cry. Lets just say I refused to see it again when we did the booking yesterday. Haha... And yes, focusing on family would be the most impt thing actually.

Haven't!! I need to know more "stupid" people like me!! Can u all come out of the closet plsssssssss?

Congrats ryu!! Finally you found a place! :) happy for you la. :bsmilie:

Thank u bonbon!! Yes, u know how long my search has been... Haha!

Edutilos, 2 Punggol, 1 for Tampines. The sale of balance flats was in Punggol as well.

My younger sis had a HDB appt for her first time ballot. She rejected the unit. Next ballot was for punggol waterfront, which was one of the Punggol sites we balloted too, and she got a small q no whilst I had zilch.

The govt actually said, if u reject, u'd have a slimmer chance of getting the next time round. Ya right. :p

Aiyo, why you go Punggol + Tampines, these places are always oversubscribed like siao, especially if you went for the prize ones like Punggol Waterfront...

To be fair, I can't remember what it is that they said would be the "penalty" for rejecting the unit, but I remember it only reduces the chance.. Sometimes it's just luck. :) I know people who went for 6 - 7 BTOs that were definitely more than 8 times oversubscribed each time... Needless to say, they ended up buying resale.

If I'm not wrong, Sale of Balance you can't really choose the specific location, only the town?

You are not stupid la, I share ur frustration. U dun have alot of choice as well do u.
The last time I also bidded thrice unsuccessfully.. Anyways, next comes the furniture/fridge/TV and all the other household little items in future when it is ready ! More BBB!
