Anyone knows where I can take pictures of snakes in the wild (not in captivity) in Singapore?

Thanks.

Most of the nature reserves should have snakes, Venus drive might even have king cobra

That's dangerous right? Looking for wild snakes?

I have been to Sungai Buloh Reserves, Pasir Ris, Bedok Reservoir, but could not spot any snakes or their shed-skins. Maybe i was not looking hard enough.

That is why I'd posted here, to see if anyone spotted any during their photo shooting times.

First of all, you need to be VERY VERY observant as they are pretty skittish and will avoid human contact wherever possible. Secondly, it's normally a chance encounter when you do get to photograph a snake or two unless you are trained to "hunt" for these snakes and locate their habitats.

A dead rat normally will bring the snakes out.

Set your camera and flash on wireless remote for obvious reason.

catch it

No need to go the the wild ... my office already have a lot of snake there .....

:(

When I see snakes, I'll just go: Crikey, what a beauty!! and catch it

When you go hunting for snakes it is important that you insert your trouser legs into your socks so not to let any opening for the snake to slide up into your trousers.

You don't want to have two snakes inside your trousers. :bsmilie:

I hate snakes.. saw them a few times when I do macro shoot. I would walk away immediately.. Venus drive, dairy farm....

I used to see cobras pretty often in Amoy Quee camp at yio chu kang area, behind Nanyang poly and facing amk ave 5 there is this very big field/bush land and it's part of the camp area. We used to see so many cobras (black) there and they even appear in the drains and pavements. Kinda irritating cos we have to move away to avoid them.

I've caught wolf snakes at my workplace in amk and normally they are found in grassy areas or drains.
