Canon Speedlite 270EX

Last week i stumbled at one of the shops in Vivo City selling a Canon Speedlite 270EX for S$108:bigeyes:, thinking this could be a good bargain and give it as a gift to my beginner colleague who is using a 550D. I asked the Gentleman there and told me that 270EX is only for G12:cry:. and could not be use for the 550D. I tried to research online, but found no such specialty :think:. is there such? thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply mates, I saw this 270EX at Best Denki in Vivo City for only S$108. I'm ready to pounce on my wallet when the staff there asked me for what camera I'll use it, when i told him its for 550D, he said it's only for Canon Powershot G12 and will not work on my 550D. So I withold back, I tried to search online but found nothing that will say that this flash is only for G12. Sigh!

Yes it's great but it has it's limits. However it's definitely better than your onboard flash. Enjoy your new 270ex. =)

270ex is great. I have a 430EX II and a 270EX... used the 270EX a lot more... and recently I bought another one for my macro usage. Love this small little flash where I can carried anywhere easily.

I am using the Pixel trigger (forgot what is the model though). Normally I have to cover the flash with some miramat sheet though... or it would be too strong.
