1. in what area is critique to be sought?
Composition & the technical execution of the HDR. Is the HDR pleasingly done?

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
I wanted to bring out the stark contrast between the green grass and the peaceful and lazy looking sky with the path leading to seemingly nowhere.

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
It was past noon around 3pm near Greenwhich in UK. No tripod was used.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
I think I achieved what I wanted to show. The picture seems peaceful to me and yet the same time is highly detailed and has stark contrast.

It's quite a nice hdr not the radioactive sort, but there's nothing holding me to the scene. The path itself seems a bit lost amongst its companions actually.

The 2 tone wider track is distracting, cloning it out so the track width is constant would be much more pleasing.

Thanks foxtwo for the compliment and advice! Yes indeed, now that you say, I can see that the two tones of the path is actually quite distracting. I will keep this in mind in the future! =)

Honestly, I thought a storm is coming with the dark and sinister looking sky. Doesn't feel peaceful. The picture makes me wanna run and take shelter. And the bright edges around the trees... is it halos or meant to be like that?
:)

I am sorry but the sky just doesn't work for me. Dark sky with bright edges around the trees? That is just not normal. Neither is it peaceful.

this qualifies as a fairly good exercise, but that's about it. it is a weak composition with no significant subject, and the lines are neither compelling nor attention-getting. way to go, bro

Its an HDR. So the tonal mapping process would make the picture to appear like that depending on the exposure.. The place was really peaceful and perhaps me being there makes me relate the picture to being peaceful. I feel calm when I see the picture but I understand where you are coming from :) Please don't run away from my picture :p
Thanks for your comments.

HDR pictures are usually not normal or realistic. But yes, you share a common viewpoint about the sky not being peaceful.. Thanks for the comments. I will think of a better title next time before posting :)

Thanks for the critique mate. I will keep in mind about composition next time. I do not understand your last comment though.. Way to go? May I know if you are complimenting or being sarcastic? 0.o If you are complimenting, then thank you and I will try better next time. If you are being sarcastic, well then I am sorry for u :)
