just hours to go.

Used to do it when I was in MP, saw a few ensign bearers fall flat on their faces :bsmilie:

we should honor those whose bags are carried by maids and fathers on that day :D

Ai yah, wayang show only with spectators filled with board and reluctant NSFs just like YOG.

I can't even recall how many times I was forced to attend COC parade and even military funerals during my tenure as a National Slave.

Ho ho ho. I remember one COC i was made to attend, the pompous monkey ordered a gold tank for his parade square centerpiece. The poor nsfs had to paint a regular tank totally gold. And the monkey invited his wife, kid, parents, extended family, etc to watch his show while the rest of us were made to celebrate his achievements. We were all making jokes at his expense. Why not go all the way and find a white horse for him to ride out on?

Not really a white horse but similar. In the final segment of a COC parade that I was involved in, the incoming and outgoing COs rode in a tank respectively waving their hands (ala NDP presidential drive-past) as it was driven around the parade square. Major face palm moment.

Sounds more of a ego issue to boost their limited self esteem. Its like a self glorification process on the pretext of an official ceremony. All NSF knows that if given a choice, none would be bother to attend.

As I learn along the years; you have no choice but to respect the rank but you have the choice whether to respect the person wearing it.
