Updates on the case : http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_679377.html

Regardless of the conclusions one might draw from the case, the points against the unfortunate cyclist are pertinent to all of us cyclists in general, as a constant reminder of safety.

( Straits times I think, reported the following observations against the cyclist )
1) Failure to keep look out for pedestrians or other road obstructions ahead with resultant failure to warn/ take necessary evasive action.
2) Failure to keep bike in serviceable condition (front brakes were faulty.)
3) Failure to wear adequate protective gear (helmet not worn).
4) Failure to slow down and take extra precautions on approaching a road traffic intersection (get ready for changes in traffic signal/ other road hazards).
5) Riding at an excessive speed/ carelessly/ recklessly

Good health for all
Ryan

BTW is there any place which replaces spokes near YCK area?
My basic MTB has a broken spoke and Rodalink says they don't have the parts :(

It's a Raleigh Mojave 4.0.

Are you still looking for a 26" foldable Mountain Bike?

For those who still haven't got a bike and wants a tough and rugged machine
where you can change to slick tires instead of the 1.95 knobby can take a look at
the Swiss Bike LX Foldable MTB.

.....

The Swiss Bike LX Foldable Mountain Bike is tough, rugged, and ready for anything.
front suspension, 24-speed Shimano Deore LX shifters.....

Anyone knows which LBS stocks the Swissbike LX MTB?

I hope you realize 8-speed drivetrain cannot be used with 9-speed shifters. No idea at all how you can recommend such a spec.

Still need more bicycle parking facilities.

Lonely bicycle parking in the rain.
Really need more parking facilities especially
at all shopping areas and MRT stations.

Lubricate the suspension fork regularly.
For oil and air forks try to use oil like 20wt oil, eg. Rock Shox's red rum.

Just to clarify another piece of misleading advice. Users should not "try to use oil like 20wt oil," but should only use oil designed solely for bicycle forks. Reason is because there are many kinds of "20wt oil" out there, and many of them are not good for forks. Certain kinds of lubricants can corrode the seals, and because of the low viscosity, seep in and mix with your fork's damping fluid.

Send the wheel with the broken spoke to http://www.ltcycle.com/ - $8. Commonwealth Lane...

Also got a simple combo lock, and Fu De from E-Walker was very nice, he came round to my place to install the kick stand for my bike. Exemplary service.

Definitely not on my bike, else my wife think I am crazy over the TV series ! LOL. I think it's better to advocate for folding bikes than to have more bicycle parks. One can push it around in folded state, just to be careful not to run over anyone's toe else the hatred against cyclist intensified.
