Hey,

Just wondering if anyone used a variable ND filter?
Seems pretty convenient, wondering how it compares to Lee/B+W filters.

Thanks for all input!

It works to a certain extent. But if you intend to use it on wide angles, you will run into problems as soon as 3 stops.

This is a review on the other well known brand of variable ND filter, Light craft workshop:

I'll be using it against nikon 24-70mm f2.8. should'nt have problems, right?

edit: thanks for the recommendation!

im using the lightcraft one.

Am using the thin ring SR Vari-ND. Works as mentioned. The only nit being the sticky labels indicating the stops are starting to peel off ..

Ordered from Singh Ray website when the thin version was shortly released yrs back. Price dun remember liao, probably close to what is current price. ( or maybe now cheaper since USD is weak )

I DIY my own Vari-ND by combining the polarising glass from 2 CPL which I dun need and it works!
