Need help on digi cabi .

I just brought my Digi Cabi this afternoon . I don't know how to operate it because i brought it at challenger . They never teach . Would like to know how to make my RH drop to 40 % .

Im using digi cabi - AD-080 .
from this afternoon till now , it's still at 80 . Im setting the knob to red side .

but it's just won't drop . i never put my stuff in there yet .

They didn't teach because they assume that you will read the instruction manual. Don't be kan cheong, set it to around 1 o'clock position and leave it overnight. From there fine-tune to the RH you want.

Also, is the red power light on?

Turn it most of the way to the green side. That's lower humidity setting.

Did you put in the power plug and switched on the socket? There should be a red light inside the dry cabinet, upper level at the back wall.
Do search for the operation manual and don't expect sales people to teach you. Their job is to sell, not to give you free education. Your parents have spent money for your education, show that it was worth the Dollars In case you can't find the manual you might want to search here the forum, your question very common (sad but true..)

Just after setting the meter, your RH will not drop immediately like magic. It would need to take some time... my dry cabinet took around two days to stabilise but that was two years ago. I think technology had moved on and it might not be as bad as then.

You should see the RH going south in about 30 minutes. My new digicabi took about 6 hours to stabilise.

35% to 40% is very good range for the camera equipment, dry enough so that fungus don't grow but not too dry as to damage the rubber portion of your equipment.

Lenses and camera equipment are optimally stored at a relative humidity (RH) of around 35% to 45%. A good rule of thumb to figure the optimal RH to store your equipment at, is to look at it’s optimal operating humidity range, and half it. For example, the Canon EOS 5D’s operating humidity range is 85% RH or lower, so a good indicative range to store it would be between 35 and 45% RH.

35..40..45..50% they all fall into the range of operating humidity. No point splitting hairs about 5% RH. Unless somebody wants to do a proper study and lab experiment

Just follow the storage condition stated in the manual. Wouldn't go wrong with that.

bought mine 2 days ago. took overnight to stabilize.

The claimed time by digicabi, i think, is 24 hrs. Mine had reached 40% in 6 hours, so I just dunked my stuff in there and did the fine tuning afterwards.
