Would you get a new body with kit lens or lesser body with better lens?

Isn't getting the better lens always the way to go? thanks.

I always fall for the marketing. It's so hard to save up for a body and a lens and I can do it much quicker with an old body and good lens. I get tired of saving and not shooting.

Agree to disagree.

But i would go for the latter. :)

+1 to that.

Body, after 2 year down the road, is consider outdated, lens can last you longer as lnog as you stay with the same brand and same sensor.

To me, Lens is a longer term investment than body.

I'll go with save everything up and enjoy shooting with ur existing lens :p

Depends on ur need. If the camera body i'm aiming for is a D7000, I would not downgrade to a D3100 to get better lens. I will miss out lots of needed features becos of that. But that's just me, it would be diff for your case.

for me i would get a good body, and start investing on lens =x

Ya. When are you buying your tamron 90mm??

You might need to consider the aspects you want to upgrade, and then decide between body or lens, rather than falling into the age old talk that lens is always a ? better investment ..

If is new to this getting a kits Len think will be better, cos u don't know how long u will be in this hobby

Unless you're buying something like 17-50 f/2.8 i'd go with a kit lens if you're a newbie. You don't know what you wanna shoot yet...

Just my $0.02

People need to realize that the kit lenses nowadays are actually already very good.

I personally feel that unless you are printing images at its 100% size, you won't actually need "better lens", unless you need something that the current is unable to deliver. and IMO, better skills and different perspective will be more useful in the long run.

*currently I'm not a believer of better body/lens = better shots*

I  my 55-300 kit lens. :)
