The Preservation of Monuments Board presents special tours of the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, a well-known landmark of railway travel in Singapore and the newest National Monument. Completed in 1931, this feat of engineering was modelled after the grandest railways in Europe. Did you know that at the time of its completion, it had platforms which could cater to the longest mail trains? Through tours led by PMB’s Director*, Jean Wee, and guides, learn how this railway station was built to realise the British empire’s vision of creating an extensive network across land and sea, and the features that make this building a ‘terminus of world importance’. Don’t miss a last look at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station before it temporarily closes to the public on 1st July.

Pre-registration is required, bookings subject to availability of slots. Please email name, NRIC, contact number, date and time of tour to nhb_nationalmonuments@nhb.gov.sg.

nice!! and guided tours are good, especially if they allow access to restricted areas members of public normally do not have access to. however if solely for photoshoots, just go into the station anytime foc :)

just an update, apparently all the chinese speaking tours have been filled up.

Are we allow to take pics?

I was here yesterday. I only can say it was totally disappointed...
