I've gone down to the shops to check out the cams however I did not ask the salesperson to let me have a feel of it cos' I still have yet to decide and I feel a little bad to trouble them.
I've read the "FAQ: What DSLR to get?" already.
I think that by reading the reviews and such of the different cams will only help a tiny bit. The main thing is that I would like to hear more opinions from people who have been using the cams and share their opinions on those cams. By reading and comparing the reviews wouldn't help much.
Hence I would love to get more personal opinions from people here and it'd be nice if those who owns either of these cam could post a picture (example of the good n bad points each of the cam would be best
) using the 18-55mm kit lens.

1. Not asking the salesperson for a feel was a big mistake. You need to feel it BEFORE deciding! Not after!!
2. Opinions? Everyone has an opinion. Canon people will say Canon is good, Nikon people will say Nikon is good, Pentax people will say Pentax is good, Sony people will say Sony is good, etc. So, after reading the reviews, is the better high-ISO capability of the K-R important to you? Do you need an articulating LCD? What about the built-in antishake? What about the Sony cameras that use the same sensor but also have built-in IS and an articulating LCD? What about the Nikon cameras that also use the same sensor but might be cheaper?
3. Posting a picture is POINTLESS unless it's the SAME picture taken in a controlled environment with no photoshopping with JPEG vs. RAW comparisons and the ability to measure color accuracy, dynamic range, etc, which - surprise surprise - the review sites do.
4. Good and bad points of each cam? Again, totally biased based on the owners. Reviews tend to be more neutral, and your own experience after feeling, holding and testing the cameras matter the most. Remember, asking for a PERSONAL opinion means that it is only that one person's opinion, based on his needs, based on his hand size, his uses, etc. Your own opinion will be different. where one person says "in my opinion it's great, perfect pictures every time, very comfortable to use!!" You might have a totally opposite reaction - pictures are off, the grip is too small, camera is too heavy, can't remember where the buttons are, etc.
5. Using the 18-55mm kit? I can tell you that almost all 18-55mm kit lenses are so-so at best and in no way whatsover can be used to judge a camera body performance.
