Hi,

I have a samsonite laptop backpack with big space infront and thought of converting it as a camera bag, so to save from buying a new one..

Anyone had done before? Or anyone know where can I buy those camera bag shock absorber type inner padding readily in a box form or custom made?

Thanks for any advise.

I use the divider from EOS tote bag. I put it into my samsonite.

You may buy camera insert/divider, I ever saw it once in OP around 30$ if I'm not mistaken... the good thing, no one expected you bring a camera inside your backpack, that advantage for safety reason.

Challenger should have one insert for it too . . . saw it before over there. (Funan)

Thanks guys. Got the matin insert from OP. However, still cannot resist to those camera bag hence bought one too... ha..

Would be better to have a sling camera bag that can be inserted into the backpack. That allow you the option of the Backpack or just the sling bag interchangeability.

hahaha jackwolf, you just defeated the purpose of wanting to buy an insert padding in the first place.. =P

Anyone managed to convert a crumpler back pack to a camera bag? i got a crumpler king single with a removable laptop sleeve.

I couldn't bother with buying inserts and stuff like that. I just use towel and the foams founded with the lens and some old MP3 pouches to be my padding and separator. I brought this improvise bag with my camera (40D + grip), 50mm lens, 70-200mm F4L IS, 100mm f2.8 macro and a teleconverter, to overseas vacations and no problem at all.
