Is it normal that the RH keeps fluctuating even without the door opening? I've just got mine (Digicabi DHC 60L) on Friday. Have left it operating til today (cos I went overseas). When i was back, i can still see it on and off at a regular interval. is that normal or do i have a faulty unit?

q2) is it ok to leave my charger + batt / flash light / memory cards in the cabinet? Read somewhere that plastic might crack due to being too dry. duno how true this is, so will like to get confirmation.

Thank you in advance! :)

1) not sure

2) nope.. It shouldnt be. There are parts of your camera made of plastic too. If tt's really the case, placing for kit into the dry cab is only preparing for its imminent plastic destruction.. Lol =)

On and off is normal. Much like a refrigerator turns cooling on and off to maintain temp. Sam principle, but dry cab maintains humidity.

Plastics are fine. Relative humidity if maintain between 35-55% it shouldn't be a problem. I've seen stuff stored at 30% for more than a decade with no issues.

May I know where did you got it and how much?

Care to share the shop name? Thanks.

Are you sure? To my knowledge it's all control pricing by the vendor.

yup. can show you my receipt even. can't disclose shop name here though.
actually i was quite surprised that they gave me discount also cos i thought its controlled pricing too.

Hi SkimMilk! Could you pm me the shop name and price you bought pls?

Dry Cab is used for storing the cam when u not using right ?
How about if we go travelling ?

1 week is no problem, fungus do not grow that fast. I assume that you will be using your camera fairly regularly during your trip right? Then 1 month is no issue too. Frequent use will prevent fungus growth

It doesn't matter whether you keep the camera stuffed into the bag at home or during travel, the fungus won't notice but still grow after some time. Universal recipe: Fresh air, sunlight, daily usage.
