Macro lens need filter?

It's totally up to you whether you want to use a filter

you should get a filter to protect your lens. If you scratched your lens your heart will ache, but filter can change @ quite cheap prices too. Bought my filter for $15 (58mm) at Click! tampines 1, so I think spending this little amount to protect your lens, it's worth it.

depends on the lens that you are using & how much you r willing to spend. if it's just for protection, then u can just get a normal filter, HOYA will do. but if you are having tele-lens & really into qualilty then go ahead.

The tamron 90mm macro lens front element is quite deeply recessed , if you put on the hood , quite unlikely to get the front element scratched unless it's a direct hit/ poke .

The Tamron 90mm is about $600. Either you get a good UV filter or not at all.

i found out the cheapest 90mm is 495 from artworkfoto (grey set)
or t k foto 530 local set

Any cheap piece of glass you put in front of your lens will degrade the quality of the image.

I do not use any filter on all my lenses
