Super Moon Weekend

This is another shot taken sometime back with the k-x + DA 55-300 + tripod n remote release just for comparing.
i feel a "half" moon produces much more details on the surface compared to a Full moon which is very bright.
just my 5 cents worth i may be wrong.

Nice . I think I got the same shots too tonight and last night with the same setup
I notice u use tripod with remote . I believe this can be done with handheld easily .
Turn Yr cam to spot meter , use av mode , point to the mOon and shot . I think the moon is bright enough for handheld

Nice shots guys.. The moon should be about 14% bigger than when it is furthest away. That has to do with its elongated tug-o-war orbt with the Earth. However it would have been much better for this event to take a photo of the moon near the horizon with buildings as reference. This would provide the reference for which the viewer could see the apparent larger size.
Airconvent do you mean something alittle like this? I was walking along Beach Road last night when I saw this & was reminded about the "Supermoon".

genecor your shot is good, you just need to increase the "blacks" if you are using lightroom. if you give permission, i can use your photo and show you the result.
