Another photo taken by a Pentax camera comes in first!

NIce... there is something i will like to ask on the photo...
Anybody can explain to me the technique the photographer is using to take the photo?
Because i see the shutter speed is at 25sec and f stop is at F18 which is not commonly used in this case... I am puzzled.
Is it taken in a very low-light environment?
Thank you.

why not commonly used ? Product shoot common to stop down for dof... most likely using continuous light source, or could be using a technique of light painting to do product shot like Harold Ross

He using a zk lens wor! Seriously, the Zk's render colors and saturation in such a nice and punchy way, my DA limiteds all pale in comparison (actually looks quite yuck to be honest - too much green and dull looking).

f18 to shoot a pomegranate? Strange, unless he is doing something exotic like what flowerpot said.

But hey what do I know about product photography~

I suppose so.

F/18 is used to have greater DoF, then because of the low light environment, 25 seconds is needed to get optimal exposure at ISO200 (for best IQ).

Wow, he used a ZK distagon 21f2.8. Anybody knows what are the ZK lenses still available currently?.

Might just be that he did not have a brighter light source (Eg. window light) so just stopped it down and use a tripod.

BTW, the focal length says 100mm.

Is it me or is it not sharp at 100% (movement blur)
Nice colors and composition nonetheless

I know: 18/3.5, 21/2.8, 25/2.8, 28/2, 35/2, 50/2 (Makro), 85/1.4, 100/2 (Makro). All running low...
In other words: 50/1.4 cannot find new anymore.

I think can still find the 50 in eBay. Not cheap.

It is so damn hard to focus accurately manually with a 21mm that is it any wonder the shooter used f/18 to maximize DOF? :)

anyone knows where he would be focusing when using F18, then?
or where would you be focusing on if you had to make this shot?
trying to learn...

Oh yes. I just found some. Not cheap indeed. 50% more than what I paid for the cheapest found...
